AN EXTENSION TO YOUR FAMILY - BRINGING HOME A PUPPY

I am sure that most people recognize the similarities of  bringing home a puppy and bringing home a baby. I know my topic may seem cavalier and maybe even cold, but I assure you it is not - it is a simple observation. Let's face it, we most of the time care for our animals the same way we care for our children and in this article I  am going to focus on just 'seven' of the likenesses in no particular order of importance:

  1. Name: naming usually comes first only because there is time to figure out and pick the right one and it is usually a fun way to try and fit which name is going to be perfect for the new personality around your home.
  2. Apparel: as much as you can take your dog out without clothes or shoes, most people are now opting to dress their dogs with not only stylish leashes, but the rapidly growing industry trend includes jackets sweaters, raincoats and even shoes! It is my prediction that an ever newer trend for man's best friend will be puppy showers - registries and all! check out the site that I recently stumbled upon with really cute items as an example of this very  point.  click here
  3. Health: whether is be vaccinations or required shots, it is important that your newest familly member is protected from all elements that may harm them and there are schedules for all that are required.
  4. Bedding: crib or dog bed, this is a very important detail for either new addition.
  5. Nourishment: puppies, just like babies need the proper nourishment right from the beginning to ensure the right start to a happy and healthy life.
  6. Play: don't forget this very important aspect, just like we have play-dates and school yards with jungle gyms for our children we have dog toys and dog parks for our dogs which can sometimes be utilized for social networking and dating - we may even  someday have 'Dogbook'.
  7. Love & Dedication: this is certainly the most important aspect in comparison as we would do anything for our kid(s) and our family dog(s)
I am sure that I am not the only person that has thought of these similarities as we see it everyday - I have a friend that takes her boxer to see Santa every year! The same friend buys her dogs sweaters and shoes! Hell, I even bought my dog a raincoat one year! These actions are sweet and endearing and even a TRUE display of humanity.
Thank you for taking the time to read  my blog, I hope to become a [part of you regular routine, please look for my many different topics on many different aspects of everyday life.
